A family-centered wedding at Shotgun Creek in Salem, OR
Casey and Joe message me two weeks before their new wedding date, moved from 2026, because they just couldn't wait to be married to each other! They had spent a lifetime in love, spanning between Florida and Oregon, and were so determined to start a new life together, surrounded by their loved ones. I was immediately drawn to their fun, outgoing, and chill energy. The two made my first time shooting a wedding an absolutely fun time.
I travelled down to Shotgun Creek Recreation Site from Portland to find a huge picnic space, with a covered area that they were using for the reception. Casey was getting ready in their family's RV while Joe ran about bringing food, and eventually getting dressed near the creek. It was an absolutely beautiful day, with their family was scattered around the large area, taking in the beautiful sights, playing with their dogs, and laughing together.
This beautiful couple DIY'd everything within 2 weeks! Casey had emailed me just two weeks prior to their big day to be their wedding photographer, and without hesitation, I told them I would be there, camera at the ready, to photograph all of the moments that made them them. Everything from their first touch, to their vows in front of their family, the unity braid, the feet washing ceremony, and the shared grass at the end of the night.
Unity braid
Casey and Joe braided representing their relationship between each other and God.
First look with Odin
Casey did a first look with their dog, Odin! He was overjoyed to see her.
Feet washing
Casey and Joe washed each other's feet with the water from the rushing creek. This act of humility was so beautiful.
